X-ray glass

What is X-ray glass?

Where regular float glass transmits X-rays, radiation-shielding X-ray glass provides additional X-ray absorption thanks to added lead and barium. This glass is also known as Med-X glass.

Where can I use X-ray glass?

X-ray glass is a common type of medical glass primarily used in medical institutions. X-ray glass can also be used in insulating glass units.

Technical details

The thickness of X-ray glass ranges between 3.5 and 6 mm and its maximum dimensions are 1,000 x 2,000 mm2. The radiation-shielding properties can be selected between 0.9 and 4.6 lead equivalence, depending on the thickness of the glass and the voltage of the X-ray tube. X-ray glass can be laminated.
